News reaching Legit.ng has it that Lagos state government has imposed ban on commercial motorcyclists in six local government areas in the state.
Specifically the state banned Okada, and Keke Napep, Opay and Gokada operators.
The local government include Apapa, L/Mainland, Surulere, Eti Osa, L/Island, Ikeja.
According to Jubril Gawat, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's senior special assistant on new nedia, the new law is effective from Feb 1.
A purported list of major roads in circulation where Okada and Keke riders in Lagos have been allegedly banned from operating has been dismissed by the state government.

Recall that the state government had on Tuesday, January 21, said it had not taken a decision yet on the operations of Okada and Keke riders in the city.
Gbenga Omotoso, the commissioner for information and strategy in the state had however said the government would soon release its official position and guidelines regarding the issue.
Also recall that Legit.ng had also reported that the release of the purported list before the reaction from the state government, had been greeted with mixed reactions.
While some welcomed the development, some expressed contrary views, saying the alleged directive will impose more hardships on Nigerians.
Traffic congestions in Lagos have in over the years made many residents of the city prefer motorcycles and tricycles as a means of transportation.
