Real details of explosion in Akure (Photos + Video)

Earlier this morning, around 1 am the people of Akure, Ondo State woke up to a loud bang. There was so many conclusions as the reason for this explosion. Some even said it was rapture taking place, lol. Others said, it was a bomb, while some claimed it to be an asteroid. While the government of Ondo state is yet to address the state on the reason for the bang, A twitter user who went to the site of occurrence confirmed that it was none of the earlier speculated reasons. He went further to state that the explosion was caused by an unknown truck carrying explosives. FG reduces petrol pump price

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA ) has announced the reduction of the pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N121.50 from N123 per litre. The PPPRA in its memo titled “A.4/9/017/C.2/IV/701 31“, also disclosed that the ex-depot price band is now N100. 13 and N108. 13 per litre while ex-depot for collection is N108. 78 and N111.78 per litre for the month of June. Marketers were directed to comply and operate within the indicative prices. The memo read; “Please recall the recently approved pricing regime which became effective 19th March 2020 and the provision for the establishment of a monthly price band within which Petroleum Marketers are expected to sell PMS at the retail stations. ” After a review of the prevailing market fundamentals in the month of May and considering Marketers’ realistic operating costs, as much as practicable, we wish to advise of a new PMS guiding pump mice with corresponding Ex-Depot pric...

BREAKING: Six COVID-19 patients to be discharged in Lagos

The Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr Tunde Ajayi, has disclosed that six of the patients at the Infectious Disease Hospital have recovered. Ajayi via his twitter handle, @thetundeajai, said the patients would be discharged soon. “Six of our #COVID19 inpatients have recovered and will be discharged soon. There is something Lagos is doing right. Lagos takes the lead,” he wrote. According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, 51 cases were confirmed in the country as of 11:25 pm on March 25. “Out of the 51 confirmed cases, two have been discharged, while one death has been recorded. Lagos has 32 confirmed cases,” the NCDC wrote on its website. The Nigerian president’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari, has died after contracting Covid-19, two presidency spokesmen said on Twitter, as Covid-19 deaths on the continent pass 1,000. Kyari, who was in his 70s and had underlying health problems, including diabetes, was the top official aide to 77-year-old President Muhammadu Buhari and one of the most powerful men in the country. “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari,” said presidency spokesman Garba Shehu in a tweet on Friday, using an honorific title for Kyari. “The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. Buhari issues COVID-19 guidelines, approves Lagos N10bn request

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Thursday night, issued some guidelines on the raging coronavirus pandemic and the efforts of his regime to combat it, including the approval of N10bn to be released to the Lagos State Government on request.
