Before you 'domesticate the boy child'

I really am intrigued by the recent energy our women folk have put into advocating for the domestication of the boy child. Am I against it? Of course not; Lord knows I love to cook. And, though I'm not the tidiest of persons, I clean up often.

I can only assume this is just another version of your 'equality' struggle. My own request is simple: try to balance out your narrative. You make it sound like the boy child just grows up in 'chilling mode'. I am all for Equality, so let's also start teaching the girl child to handle stuff like spark plug/oil change in generators, car cleaning and basic maintenance {many of ona no still sabi change ordinary tire}, installation and minor repairs of electrical appliances {I can authoritatively say that only one out of 20 ladies can confidently handle a screw driver. Let's not even talk about spanners}.

Dear Aunty 'Domesticate The Boy Child', are you aware that most of your daughters cannot load prepaid meter? Are you aware that most of them don't know how to operate the A.C remote in your living room? Are you aware that they call us just to change a light bulb and would rather die than climb a ladder to adjust antenna? Do you know that if they draw gen rope twice and nothing happens they immediately start shouting your boy child's name? You have no idea how many times I woke up to the sound of, 'Victor, go and switch off the gen' even when my sisters were fully awake. You won't know; all you're worried about is cooking and cleaning.

Oh, and those long distance, sometimes really late, errands? Let the girl child start going on them too. Let's balance everything. I stand for Equality. I am the real feminist.

P.S. I intentionally have refused to talk about the entitlement mentality a ton of your girl children have grown up with and their inability to take responsibility for themselves or their actions, and whose fault that is. That's table-shaking for another day.
